Op ‘als alles er af is’ is Plan kruutntoone weer een trio, met weinig meer dan banjo, bas, de naaimachine en tekst.

‘Als alles er af is’ is een momentopname geworden uit een vreemde periode, zo eerlijk mogelijk, zoals Jaques Brel het deed. Of hoe Marc Ribot het doet. Zoals de eerste soloplaat van Lennon opgenomen werd: ruw en met behoud van de prachtigste fouten.
Over werken met Polen in de polder, ‘welk een vriend is onze Jezus’ en dansen aan de loswal tot de accu van de auto leeg getrokken is.

Op de cd staat ook de‘trekker’ dat eerder op Plan Kruutntoones Gelijktijdigwiel stond als ‘tractor et embargo’. Gespeeld zoals het nu voelde: harder en kwetsbaarder. Hans Visser zoekt in weinig noten elke keer opnieuw een tijdelijk onderkomen. In het water, tegen een berg, op het ijs. Bassist Bas Alblas is daar al. Brommend, schurend en jankend. Door Stef of Chris met een paar rake klappen ondersteund.

Plan Kruutntoone is a Dutch band renowned for playing uncompromising music all over Europe. The album ‘als alles er af is / after the harvest’ offers sober autobiographical poetry put to music, which at times requires no more than the old sewing-machine to accompany banjo, bass, and vocals. Plan Kruutntoone reaches out from a strange (yet oddly familiar) land that is heart wrenching and beautiful at once.
